Cyber Security: Protecting Digital Human Security
Cyber security is an emerging dimension of human security in Uganda. As more services and information move online, vulnerable communities face new threats from fraud, data breaches, and digital exclusion.
FHSI helps raise awareness, strengthen digital safety, and support institutions so Ugandans can access technology without compromising privacy or trust.
What We Do
- Train community members on safe internet use and online privacy.
- Support schools and local organisations with cyber awareness materials.
- Advocate for stronger digital protection policies and inclusive access.
- Help small businesses secure online transactions and customer data.
- Encourage responsible digital citizenship across youth networks.
Why It Matters
As connected services expand, cyber threats can harm livelihoods, education, and trust. Protecting digital spaces is critical to ensuring that technology strengthens rather than weakens human security.
FHSI’s cyber security work is about building safer digital communities, protecting personal information, and empowering people to use online tools with confidence.
Strategy 50 Target
By 2050, FHSI aims to expand digital safety awareness to at least 150 communities, helping people access internet resources securely and responsibly.
Digital resilience is a new pillar of human security. FHSI supports Uganda’s communities to use technology safely, resist digital threats, and connect securely to opportunity.
