FHSI's Commitment to Human Security
Executive Director's Welcome
It is my distinct honor to lead a passionate team dedicated to addressing Uganda's most pressing human security challenges. At FHSI, we believe that true security goes beyond military might or the absence of conflict—it encompasses the dignity, opportunity, and well-being of every individual.
That is why FHSI offers a practical and people-centered framework for developing integrated human security policies and programs that are comprehensive, context-specific, and focused on prevention and resilience.
Our approach is rooted in evidence-based research, community outreach, and capacity-building initiatives. We aim to deliver sustainable solutions in key sectors that impact human life—food, water, health, education, environmental protection, gender equality, and the safety of women and girls.
We go beyond advocacy. Our work contributes directly to national policy formulation, shapes public discourse, and supports Uganda’s development agenda. Every initiative we lead is guided by the principle that human security is essential for inclusive growth, peace, and prosperity.

Our History
Founded in 2022 by King David Lumala, FHSI emerged from a vision to address human security challenges in Uganda. Starting with small community projects, we have grown to operate across all Ugandan districts, focusing on eight key areas.
Our early initiatives targeted food and water security, laying the foundation for broader programs in health, education, and environmental sustainability. By 2025, FHSI has impacted over 50,000 people through partnerships and innovative solutions.
Guided by Strategy 50, we continue to expand our reach, collaborating with communities, governments, and organizations to build a secure and prosperous Uganda.
